Fincantieri and Enra Highlight Next-Generation Underwater Defence Capabilities for Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – Fincantieri, in collaboration with ENRA Energy Solutions Sdn. Bhd. (EES), successfully concluded the Underwater Domain Seminar Series held in Kota Kinabalu and Kuala Lumpur. The programme brought together representatives from the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF), the Science and Technology Research Institute for Defence (STRIDE), and industry stakeholders to discuss the evolving underwater security landscape and future maritime defence capabilities.

The seminars focused on emerging trends in underwater domain awareness, anti-submarine warfare (ASW), autonomous underwater systems, and the protection of critical maritime infrastructure. Participants also gained insights into Fincantieri’s advanced underwater technologies, including the U212 Near Future Submarine (U212 NFS), S800 submarine concept, autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), and integrated underwater surveillance solutions.

Beyond showcasing innovative technologies, the seminar series served as a platform for meaningful dialogue and knowledge exchange among key stakeholders from the defence, maritime, research, and industry sectors. Discussions highlighted the growing importance of integrated underwater security and collaborative approaches to addressing emerging maritime challenges.

The initiative reflects the ongoing collaboration between Fincantieri and ENRA Energy Solutions in supporting Malaysia’s maritime defence ecosystem through technology sharing, industry engagement, and strategic partnerships aimed at strengthening the nation’s future maritime capabilities.
